About the Department
The Department of Mechatronics Engineering was started during the academic year 2012-2013 with sanctioned intake of 60. The department has highly qualified and well-experienced, dedicated faculty members of proven ability and administrative skills. The department has well-equipped laboratories that cater to the needs of the students and providing excellent exposure through modern equipment.
The department maintains a close liaison with a number of Industries in and out of Coimbatore district and India and Abroad through faculty research and collaborative projects.
The field of Mechatronics encompasses many exciting subjects such as Robotics and Automation, Machine Vision, Rapid Prototyping, Hydraulic and Pneumatics, Automotive Electronics, Sensors and Instrumentation, MEMS, Intelligent Systems and Real time Embedded system which is a fast growing technology that enables the development of automation in the modern knowledgeable society.
- Duration : 4 Years Full Time, 8 Semesters, Lateral Entry : 3 Years Full Time, 6 Semesters

- Entry Requirements : + 2 or Equivalent, as per Norms & guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu/Anna University and AICTE

Higher studies Those who have completed B.E. in Mechatronics Engineering with a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score can enroll for M.Tech. Or Ph.D. programmes in Robotics,Mechatronics and automotive engineering and allied branches.
